Trekinetic Elite Partner Logo

The multi-award-winning Trekinetic GTE is an ultra-light, all-terrain powerchair like no other. Utilising cutting-edge Formula 1 technology, the GTE was designed as an everyday powerchair that pushes the limits of what a wheelchair should be capable of. Built in the UK from start to finish, this is one of the most advanced powerchairs on the planet.

The GTE is the first off-road and everyday power chair that you can fit into virtually any car. It’s also one of the lightest in the world at 34kg, including the battery. Therefore you don’t need to have a converted vehicle in which to transport it. This not only saves high costs but offers more lifestyle choices, especially with family and friends.

Did you know that a three-sided structure is more robust than a four-sided structure? This is because the force is better distributed across all sides. Our three-wheel drive system ensures that your body weight is distributed evenly across all wheels, improving stability and traction, especially on uneven surfaces.

Putting the big wheels at the front allows the Trekinetic GTE to cope with pretty much any terrain you can throw at it, be it on or off-road. It’s perfectly at home over mud, sand, snow and gravel. Still, it is also versatile enough to use around town, making light work of cobbles and cracked pavements. This means less time staring at the floor and more time enjoying the view.

Like the original Trekinetic K2, the GTE is changing not just landscapes that can be travelled over but the nature of the landscape itself.

Three wheels are better than four.

Did you know that a three-sided structure is more robust than a four-sided structure? This is because the force is better distributed across all sides. Our three-wheel drive system ensures that your body weight is distributed evenly across all wheels, improving stability and traction, especially on uneven surfaces.

All-terrain by design

Putting the big wheels at the front allows the Trekinetic K2 to cope with pretty much any terrain you can throw at it, be it on or off-road. It’s perfectly at home over mud, sand, snow and gravel. Still, it is also versatile enough to use around town, making light work of cobbles and cracked pavements. This means less time staring at the floor and more time enjoying the view.

Ultra-lightweight

Just like Formula 1, lighter is always better. The Trekinetic GTE weighs in at just 34 kg (including the battery), making it one of the most lightweight all-terrain power chairs on the planet. This makes it incredibly easy to manoeuvre and much more straightforward to transport than a traditional powerchair.

Engineered for versatility

Off-road stability requires a wider wheelbase. Indoor practicality requires a narrow wheelbase. Our patented Varicam system allows you to change the angle of the wheels by simply turning a bar under the seat. 0-16 degrees in 10 seconds. Zero tools are required.

Easy to transport

The Trekinetic GTE was designed to fold down and fit into a regular car. It’ll fit into a small SUV with the wheels still on. Alternatively, the front wheels come off with the simple click of a button, and the rear castor folds down behind the seat. Simple.

Carbon fibre is the new black.

Like most modern vehicles, Trekinetic has done away with the traditional metal chassis and replaced it with a super lightweight carbon fibre monocoque chassis. This reduces the chair’s weight whilst keeping it strong and results in a seat that resembles the human form more closely. This typically means less padding and more support.

Versatile hybrid design

The GTE power chair is one of the only all-terrain power chairs on the market that can also be operated as a manual chair. Flip the levers beside the front wheels to change from power to manual and back again.

Power, but not as you know it

The GTE’s power comes directly from two 24V 120W motors in the front wheels, delivering up to 6 km/h – making it perfect for use on pavements or any other type of terrain. This also means that removing the wheels reduces the weight of the main seat so that you can load it into a vehicle one piece at a time.

Better propulsion

Our front-wheel-drive system also means that your back is fully supported if you switch to manual mode and self-propel. This means you don’t have to push as hard to create the same force. A bit like a weightlifter. It’s easier when your back is fully supported.

Maximum control

The highly configurable joystick can be mounted in various positions and has five speeds for maximum control. It also has a USB charging point at the front, ideal for charging your phone.

Access all areas

Rules are made to be broken. Limits are designed to be pushed. Access the world like never before with the revolutionary, Trekinetic K2 manual wheelchair.

A comfortable ride

Trekinetic’s patented rear shock absorber ensures a smooth ride every time by soaking up any uncomfortable cobbles, cracks, lumps and bumps you might encounter on your journey.

We strive to make our products as efficient as possible, so we like it when one device performs two functions. Our unique shock absorber also acts as a tilt in space mechanism to alter the angle of the seat and change the weight distribution in the chair. This is particularly useful when going downhill.

Optional Features Available

Carbon Fibre Seat

Ergonomically moulded to follow the contours of the human body, Trekinetic’s unique carbon fibre seat has been designed to optimise pressure loading and provide support exactly where it’s needed. It’s available in two sizes, 16” (40cm) and 19” (48cm). It can be used in conjunction with a variety of cushions and supports.

Suede Lining

Our suede lining provides a soft yet supportive level of padding that can be used on its own or in conjunction with additional cushioning. It can also be removed if you need a bit of extra room!

24-inch Wheels

All Trekinetic chairs use pneumatic 24” tyres that are big enough to roll over pretty much anything but small enough to roll under a table or desk.

Choose smooth or mountain bike tyres as standard, or upgrade to extra-wide whitewall or Blackwall tyres, which are great for the beach. Spare sets of wheels are available if required.

Varicam System

Our patented Varicam system allows you to change the angle of the wheels by simply turning a bar under the seat. Set the bar to ‘Mean’ for extra stable, off-road use and ‘Lean’ for indoor use. 0-16 degrees in 10 seconds. Zero tools are required.

Nitrogen Shock Absorber

Our patented rear shock absorber helps ensure a smooth ride while also acting as a tilt in space mechanism to alter the angle of the seat and change the weight distribution in the chair.

Joystick

Programmable 5 speed electronic joystick with power/speed toggle switches and push operated horn. Acceleration, deceleration, sensitivity and turning speed can all be adjusted, and there’s even a USB port at the front for charging your phone or tablet.

Powered Wheels

The GTE’s power comes directly from two 24V 120W motors in the front wheels, delivering up to 6 km/h – making it perfect for use on pavements or any other type of terrain. This also means that removing the wheels reduces the weight of the main seat so that you can load it into a vehicle one piece at a time.
